Scope
Ergonomic and human factors upgrade to the main control room and distributed control system (DCS) control room at their Boddington site.
Result
After a site visit and human factors assessment, CADwalk delivered ergonomically superior sit-stand console furniture.
New flooring, ceiling, insulation and acoustic treatment was installed to dampen noise from the mill below.
Harsh fluorescent lighting was replaced with dimmable lighting to simulate daylight during the night shift and adjust to operators' preferences.
In addition, a new video wall was installed and AV equipment was replaced and standardised.
Benefits
Improved control room ergonomics provided operators with a safer working environment, including greatly reduced noise from the mill.
Installation works were completed with no downtime to the DCS.
